Water update for Burgersfort 13/12/2019

For the past week, the town received some much-needed rain, but the question remains whether this is enough to make a change to the ongoing water crisis?

Farmers in and around Burgersfort are giving a sigh of relief as as rivers and dams are starting to fill up. Streams are full and rivers are slowly but surely starting to flow again.

Despite all the positive impacts of rain on the surrounding areas, residents of the town must still brace themselves for a uncertain time without water, as taps are still dry.

Rain in town measured between 30 mm and 38 mm, and surrounding farmers measured the rain at 54 mm over the past two weeks.
