Rooikat Wholesale Liquor ‘s parking lot was filled with Lowvelders of every description who stocked up on their favourite alcoholic beverages.
One buyer who had been queuing for more than an hour, said, “We need to stock up because after tonight’s announcement, we may well see an imposition of stricter
measures.”

While it has not been confirmed that Ramaphosa will be addressing the nation this evening, his office issued a statement postponing an engagement with the South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF), scheduled for this evening.
Tyrone Seale, the acting spokesperson to the president, said, “The Presidency has postponed an engagement planned for this evening, between President Cyril Ramaphosa and SANEF. “The Presidency has requested the postponement to allow the president to attend to engagements that include today’s meeting of the National Coronavirus Command Council.”
