Two arrested for possession of dagga valued at R409 740

The arrests followed a tip-off.

Two men were arrested for possession of dagga with an estimated value of more about R409 740.
The suspects were arrested at Low’s Creek on Sunday.

The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, has applauded SAPS members from the Intelligence Unit in the province, as well as their counterparts from the Nelspruit Flying Squad, for the arrests.

“Their relentless efforts resulted in the arrest of two men, aged 37 and 44, respectively. According to the report, the members received information about a large volume of dagga stored at a certain house in Low’s Creek. They then conducted an intelligence driven operation and upon arrival at the house, they searched it. This is whee the 13 bags of dagga were discovered. They weighed about 273kg.

“The two suspects were then arrested and charged accordingly. They are due to appear before the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday for dealing in drugs,” she said.
