Valencia has water cut due to burst pipe
The area suffered two burst pipes in one day, however, water was fully restored by 22:00 on Monday.
A burst pipe in Valencia caused the area to go without water for most of Monday.
Valencia Combined School had to close for the day due to the water outage.
Silulumanzi’s spokesperson, Richmond Jele, said the burst pipe was reported to them at 06:00 on Monday and was restored at about 12:00.
Jele said the issue was caused by a boundary wall that had been built over the pipe.

“It took around six hours to fix the pipe, as it was dangerous work due to the wall being built over the pipe,” said Jele.
Valencia Combined School’s headmaster, Ben Bongani Mohuba, said they had taken the decision to close the school as there had been no water supply that morning. “We need running water so people will be able to use the toilets and wash their hands, especially now during the pandemic,” said Mohuba.
On Monday afternoon just before 17:00, there were reports of another burst pipe in the area, however, the matter was resolved by 22:00 that evening.
