Bean Mirams is Lowvelder’s Entrepreneur of the week

Born and bred in White River, local artist Bean Mirams' wonderful creations have a unique and exciting take on print and textile designs.

Mirams said that after she studied textile design and technology she realised she wanted to create products that would showcase her authentic approach to print design and product development.

“I started this business based on the passion I have for textile design,” said Mirams.

“BEAN is based in White River. I have a home-based studio that I work from,” she said.

Mirams added that the profits from her business are currently going toward investing in her printing workshops, as well as launching a course that schoolchildren can attend that involves the many techniques of printing and weaving.

She said the community has been vital in supporting the business and she often gets feedback and ideas from her customers.
