Talent takes centre stage at Nelspruit Eisteddfod
The Nelspruit Eisteddfod kicked off on August 23 and the talent is deemed to be promising this year.
Speech and drama was the first section to grace the hall of the Communio Church, and one of the adjudicators, Siphe Mashigo, said it was a talent- and fun-filled few days for him.
“We are all the way from Pretoria, so it is always great to see how much talent there is around the country.

“We have had some really amazing stuff here. I really enjoyed myself.

“I think as a start, speech and drama is always fun. It is poetry, it is prose, it is kids just having expressivity on the stage. And I loved it, I really enjoyed it. I hope the rest of the eisteddfod goes on and becomes this great thing.”
Inspiration is key here, and Mashigo definitely experienced it.

“For me, I love the work. I love the inspiration and I feel like the kids inspire me more that I inspire them.”
Music vocal was on this week’s programme, with some solos on Tuesday and duets and trios on Wednesday.
Next week there will be some dancing to look forward to.
