An American human rights activist, Dr Martin Luther King, once said, “Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.”

His words will give a meaning to the annual gospel concert which will be hosted as a build-up to the much-loved annual Mbombela Jazz Festival.

The main objective of the festival is to promote social cohesion, nation-building, tourism and economic development.

The festival continues to be a major highlight in the arts, tourism and entertainment calendar of Mpumalanga and the country at large.

Job creation and economic upliftment remains one of the cornerstones of staging this festival. During the period of the festival, a number of services will be rendered with the aim of creating job opportunities among the local communities.
