Support group launched to empower widows

An event in support of widows was held at St Paul’s Anglican Church on Saturday September 11.

Rev Anna Williams wanted to encourage widows through the Word of God and prayers. Williams became a widow at the tender age of 31 and raised her three daughters alone. She is currently registered for a doctorate in theology. In 2014 she was ordained as a deacon in the Anglican Church and as a priest in 2016. “God revealed the vision to start this group in 2015. The prayer gathering on Saturday was a fulfilment of this vision,” said Williams. The group is already hitting the ground running by supporting other widows who are bereaved and carrying them in prayer.
