Paws for Cause goes walkies for furry fellows of Pro-Life

The five-kilometre charity walk started at 07:00 at Nicher Business Centre in Riverside Industrial Park. Animal lovers from across the Lowveld brought along their beloved pooches to walk for a good cause.

Pro-Life Pet Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption Agency held a successful “Paws for Cause” charity walk on Saturday October 16, raising much-needed funds for the centre as well as receiving massive food donations for its sheltered animals.

The five-kilometre charity walk started at 07:00 at Nicher Business Centre in Riverside Industrial Park. Animal lovers from across the Lowveld brought along their beloved pooches to walk for a good cause.

The happy hounds all received dog biscuit medals after their trek in the heat.

Nicher Business Centre had a water station for the pooped-out pooches following their walk, and a stall with coffee and food for their tired owners.

Pro-Life said it was extremely grateful for the turnout, especially in Saturday’s heat, and that there were plans to hold the Paws for Cause walk every three months following the success of Saturday’s event.

Pro-Life said it received donations of 258 kilograms of dog food and 62 kilograms of cat food, as well as R2 450.

“We really appreciate all the organisers, helpers and sponsors for making it possible. Thank you to Nicher Business Centre, Coral Events, Riverside CID, Turboformance, AVS Hire and Mbombela BMW,” said Pro-Life in a Facebook post on Sunday October 17.
