One dead, two injured in R40 accident

According to the police, the cause of the accident near the Barberton Nature Reserve is still unclear.

A truck driver lost his life due to a collision between the truck and a car that had crashed on the R40 near the Barberton Nature Reserve on November 9.

The driver and passenger of the car were rushed to Rob Ferreira Hospital after suffering critical injuries.

The road was blocked at 06:00 with debris from the accident and the emergency units had to implement an emergency stop-and-go to prevent any further collisions. After the scene had been cleared, the road opened up at 15:00. The police, Van Wettens and ER24 were on the scene of the accident.

According to the police, the cause of the accident is still unclear. Col Johan Engelbrecht, the Barberton station commander, stated that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
