Furry friends brighten up the day at Phumalanga

A dog's love is unlike any other, even if it is not your dog. The residents of Phumalanga Retirement Village experienced this on Friday.

The Care Buddies recently paid a visit to the Phumalanga Retirement Village and this time they were accompanied by a few pups.

The residents’ faces spoke of pure joy while they interacted with the dogs and that, according to Ann Rattray of the Care Buddies, is exactly the idea. “The thing is, when people come into old age homes, 90% of them have actually had their own pets, and they miss them terribly.

“I see their faces light up with the dogs.”

Rattray said they have started engaging in more of these types of activities.

“We also brought ponies to them once, and they just react. It is just a little bit of joy in their day.”
