Kinesiologist motivates women of SACBW

Lida Pretorius, a kinesiologist, coupled the explanation of the science of kinesiology with some motivation at the SACBW's last networking session for the year.

In its last networking session for the year, the South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) hosted a kinesiologist, Lida Pretorius, at La-Ciél Aerial Studio.

Tracy-Erin Duggan, the local business leader for the SACBW, said they have one of these sessions every month and decided that Pretorius would end the year off the right way. “It has been a very up and down year for most people and she is going to let us end the year on a bang.”

Pretorius explained kinesiology as being “holistic healing”.

“I did a corporate job for a long time and then I got sick. I went to see a kinesiologist and got better.” After that experience, she decided to make a career change at 40. She has owned her own practice, IN-Balance Kinesiology, for four years now.

“Kinesiology looks at emotional structure and biochemical health. Today I will talk about the motivation around it and why it works; the science behind it.”

Pretorius coupled the explanation of the science with some motivation as well, talking about the tools and smokescreens we use to pretend that we are okay, and how that can weigh us down in everyday life.

Coupled with this was also a demonstration of what La-Ciél Aerial Studio has on offer, with the women in charge showing off some moves on the silks.
