Police hunt for four suspects in alleged farm attack outside Mbombela

The police are searching for four suspects who had allegedly assaulted and robbed a couple and their employee on a farm just outside Mbombela on Friday March 11.

According to the Nelspruit Police’s spokesperson, Const Bongani Mokoena, the robbery occurred in the Mara area at about 13:00. He said that Henrik Nel had just arrived home after having worked on the farm, when he was approached by four men.

“The suspects took Nel’s 9mm gun from him and allegedly assaulted him, his wife, Ansie, and their employee, Fikile Mbele, and then tied them up with some rope,” Mokoena said.

He said a rifle and a pistol had also been stolen, among some other items. The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have yet been made.
