SUPERSPAR Plaza gives back to community

A woman from Pienaar cried tears of joy when she won a car in the SPAR POLO-LONY Consumer Competition.

A woman’s life was changed on Saturday when she walked out of SUPERSPAR Plaza as the owner of a brand-new VW Polo Vivo.

Bucie Vilakazi from Pienaar entered the SPAR POLO-LONY Consumer Competition hoping she would win, but never thinking she actually would.

“Thank you. Thank you! I don’t know what I can say,” an emotional Vilakazi told SPAR personnel.

She said she buys from SPAR every day, especially polony, which she uses to make the kotas she sells. “I am so excited! Thank you! I won’t sell it. I will use it every day to come to SPAR and buy polony.”

Shoyab Ismail of SUPERSPAR Plaza said competitions like these encourage customer relationships. “We at SPAR do a lot for the community, compared to our competitors, and that is the difference. Today’s event is just going to bring more interaction to the brand and to our store, because now the customers witnessed it first-hand.”

Stella Adams of the SPAR Distribution Centre, said, “We run these competitions, and to add to Shoyab’s point, it is to help drive consumers to the product, but actually, the most important thing is to give back. That is why we are here today, to celebrate with Bucie on this amazing win.

“That is why SPAR DC is here, to serve our retailers and the end consumer at the end of the day; it is just to give back to the community that supports us. And the Lowveld is very strong with SPAR brands.”
