JJ Peters to undergo mental assessment

The accused, JJ Peters, was supposed to plead, but his legal team submitted an application to have him mentally screened instead.

JJ Peters will undergo mental observation before his murder trial can proceed. This will be done to ensure he is fit to stand trial and understands the gravity of the crime he allegedly committed. Peters, once again, briefly appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Monday January 30, when his legal team requested he undergoes mental assessment to determine if he is mentally sound before pleading.
