Man accused of killing Nelspruit deputy sheriff to appear in court

The accused had last appeared at the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court in early February. He is suspected of shooting and killing the Nelspruit deputy sheriff in October last year.

The man accused of shooting and killing Nelspruit deputy sheriff, Michelle Jones, is expected to make his next court appearance tomorrow, February 24.

The accused, Hendry Dlamini (32), is suspected of shooting both Jones and her partner, Julio Baumgat, in Nelsville on the evening of October 20, 2022, following an alleged house dispute.

Dlamini last appeared at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on February 3.

Mpumalanga spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority Monica Nyuswa said that the matter was postponed to February 24 for further investigation.
