Man accused of White River shooting released as investigations continue

This case was not enrolled in the White River Magistrate's Court due to insufficient evidence.

The case of a man who fatally shot another man in White River on Saturday, was not enrolled in court due to a lack of evidence, and he was released on free bail.

According to the prosecutor handling the case, Aaron Kotsedi, there are a lot of loopholes in the police docket, so there was no need to enrol it.

“We are not closing the case, because someone was murdered, and therefore the police must do their investigation. We must make sure that all the paperwork is in place so that when we enrol it, we have sufficient evidence to present to the court,” he said.

He also said the accused was released on free bail, but once enough evidence has been presented to the court, they will call him back to face his charges. “A crime was committed, and justice will play its role in the right way,’ he said.
