Phelophepa Healthcare Train in Lydenburg till April 21

Residents of the greater area queued to receive medical assistance from the Transnet Phelophepa Healthcare Train on Monday.

The train, consisting of 19 coaches, will be at the Lydenburg Train Station until April 21. It has an eye clinic onboard, a cancer screening programme and psychologists are also available to supply patients with mental health advice, dental health advice and basic health education awareness. There are 20 qualified resident staff members on the train.
Cllr Herns Trower, the speaker of Thaba Chweu Local Municipality, urged the residents who need healthcare, to visit the
facility.

The train has previously won a United Nations Public Service Award. Through onboard clinic services and community outreach programmes, Phelophepa impacts over 180 000 patients annually.
