Praktiseer’s residents enjoyed some sports activities during the Easter Weekend, thanks to the Djento Sports Foundation.
The foundation’s launch saw them organise two soccer tournaments at Bogwasha Sports Grounds during the Easter holidays, played by U13s and U20s.
Atalanta FC was crowned as the champions in the U13 tournament. They defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 in the 90 minutes of play.

Attendees witnessed a tough game as Boca Juniors locked horns against Diarora FC in the U20s final.
The two teams played to a 1-1 draw before it was left to the dreaded penalties to determine the winners.
Boca Juniors were more clinical as they won the match 6-5 via penalties. Organiser Sidney ‘Djento’ Lekhuleni thanked locals and sponsors for honouring the tournament.
“We plan to have this games annually and include other sports in future. We aim to take our youth off the streets and to encourage them to participate in sports activities.”

He said the launch of the Djento Sports Foundation will push to improve sports activities in Tubatse.
The winners in both tournaments received brand-new soccer kits, a trophy, gold medals, a soccer ball, a first aid kit and a R3 000 cash prize.
The runners-up did not go home empty-handed. They also received a soccer kit, silver medals, a soccer ball, a first aid kit and a R2 000 cash prize.

Among the sponsors was Dr George Mahlangu of Inspire Lifestyle, Burgersfort Panarottis and local businesses in Praktiseer.
