Truck catches fire on Kaapsehoop Road
A truck travelling on the Kaapsehoop Road towards Ngodwana caught fire. No injuries were reported.

A truck driver escaped being injured when the truck he was driving caught on fire on the Kaapsehoop Road near Ngodwana on Tuesday afternoon, June 27.
The road was closed while firefighters battle the blaze.
Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey said the report of the fire had come through at 17:15 and that the driver was able to escape the truck uninjured.
When Lowvelder got to the scene, the Mbombela Fire and Rescue Department was extinguishing the blaze and firefighters from Sappi Ngodwana were standing by to assist.

Imvula Security was also on the scene to help ensure no other vehicles were driven through while the blaze was being extinguished.
Van Wettens was also on the scene. They said they would be towing the truck away once the fire has been extinguished.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be subject to investigation.
The road has been opened. Motorists are still advised to approach with caution.
