Champions for Change event boosts NGOs in Mbombela
The renowned musician, André Schwartz, shared stories of his life in music with the attendees of the Champions for Change Charity Event hosted at the Emnotweni Arena on October 24.
The inaugural Champions for Change Charity Event at the Emnotweni Arena on October 24 was deemed a success in raising funds for five local non-government organisations (NGOs).
Nelspruit Hospice, CANSA, Lifeline Nelspruit, the Care Buddies and the Nelspruit Lions International Club received proceedings raised at the event, while Lowvelders filled the Arena to witness the renowned André Schwartz as he gave a mesmerising solo show, Any Dream Will Do – My Road with Webber.
He performed some of his favourite hits by the famous Andrew Lloyd Webber, which was not only entertaining, but can also be compared to a tapestry of life lessons and insights intricately woven together, much like the music he brings to life.

A local musician, Debbie Kriel, kept the attendees entertained with some music. A few items were also put on auction, and these proceedings will be donated to the NGOs.

Elmarie Schoonraad of Champions for Change said the event was a success as some people had travelled from far to attend the event. “We appreciate all the people and organisations that supported the charity event. It was an amazing turnout, which we did not expect at the first event.”
