Search for missing Mbombela anaesthetist launched

The family of Mbombela anaesthetist Dr Nicholas Procter asks the public to come forward with any information that could assist them in finding him.

Dr Nicholas Procter, an Mbombela anaethetist, was reported missing this morning, February 1, when he did not show up for work.

His family has asked the public to report any information that could help them to find him.

Procter’s vehicle was spotted later this morning on the Elawini bridge. A provincial police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, said he had been reported missing to the police at 10:00 this morning. They were immediately dispatched to the bridge, as well as SARZA Lowveld, the Ehlanzeni Police Diving Unit, the White River Flying Squad, local emergency medical services and several security companies, to begin the search.

The river and surrounding areas were searched, but he has not been found yet. Investigations are ongoing.

Procter’s stepfather, Jacob Vorster, and his mother, Margaret, have appealed to the Lowveld community to contact the police with information that could lead to his whereabouts.
