One dead, 18 injured in crash on Kaapsehoop Road

A minibus taxi reportedly crashed into a tree on the Kaapsehoop Road near Ngodwana this afternoon, March 14, leaving the driver dead.

One person was killed and 18 injured on the Kaapsehoop Road near Ngodwana this afternoon, March 14, after the driver of a minibus taxi towing a bakkie reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree and embankment.

Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey said the driver of the minibus taxi had died, while the passengers had all sustained minor to moderate injuries. He said other local emergency services were also called to the scene, and Emer-G-Med transported two people to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Local authorities were dispatched to the scene for further investigation.
