IN PHOTOS: Egg-cellent day for all at Pro-Life Easter Egg Hunt in Mbombela
The hunt was on for Easter eggs, all for a good cause at this year's Pro-Life Pet Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption Agency’s Easter Egg Hunt. Seven lucky kids even won some prizes in a colouring competition.
It was a day filled with excitement and pure joy for the children who attended the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by and held at Pro-Life Pet Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption Agency on Saturday March 30.
The Easter bunny greeted the children and their families upon their arrival with a basket filled with delicious eggs, while inside a host of activities such as a colouring competition, face painting and pinning the tail on the bunny were set up as everyone geared up for the hunt. Some children and their parents were spotted wearing a pair of bunny ears during the day.
When the hunt was about to begin, everyone made their way to the dog park area just below Pro-Life’s offices and kennels, with some children clutching bags, ready to grab as many Easter eggs as they could.
And then the start of the hunt was announced and a mad dash was made to find the Easter eggs and toys hidden around the park. Some of the hiding spots included under small bundles of grass, among some rocky areas, and in some bushes and trees.

Once the hunt was over, the children made their way back to the agency’s area, proud of their Easter haul.
The seven winners of the colouring competition were announced. They received some exciting prizes, sponsored by i’langa Mall such as i’langa Mall-branded limited edition Easter bunny plush toys, the i’langa Mall Passport to Fun, and entertainment and dining packages with complimentary movie tickets from Ster-Kinekor.
i’langa Mall’s Henri Gouws said it was an honour to once again support Pro-Life’s Easter Egg Hunt. “We would like to thank our vibrant Mbombela community for supporting this magical morning in aid of our furry friends. A big congratulations to the Pro-Life team. Your work is inspirational,” he said.
Afterwards, some children and their parents took several of the dogs at for a walk, spending time with them and giving them lots of love and attention.
Pro-Life’s Karin Erasmus said the day was an overall success, and that they even had two kittens adopted during the event. “More than 100 children attended. The day exceeded expectations. I think everyone had lots of fun and the children were very happy. The dogs were spoilt as well,” she said.
All proceeds will go towards Pro-Life’s day-to-day operations.
