R555 in Steelpoort closed due to bus and truck accident

The R555 in Steelpoort was closed after a horrific accident between a Nnyana Shakwana Bus and an SB Trading truck at  06:30, which resulted in the deaths of about eight people, according to the Limpopo SAPS officers on the scene.

The bus and the truck collided head-on between Lavino and the Tubatse Residence.

The bus was carrying miners from Mototolo Mine, while the truck was being driven to the Kutullo direction with commuters on the back.

SAPS members said when these two vehicles collided, the passengers on the back fell off, some being injured and others killed.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. More information on the incident will be provided as it is released.
