Aerobics marathon benefits Huis Betlehem White River
The funds raised during the event enable Huis Betlehem to buy vitamins for the kids during winter.
The Fit to Go Gym hosted an aerobics marathon to raise funds for Huis Betlehem. The marathon was held at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre on Saturday May 4, and the locals worked up a sweat for a good cause.
According to Huis Betlehem’s executive officer, Mariaan Lourens, the gym organised this event in order to buy vitamins for the kids in their care.

“The funds we received on Saturday will enable us to support our children to be healthy during winter. However, we always need funds, food and cleaning products. People can donate products to us directly or they can support our golf day on August 23 by registering to play, hosting a tee or sponsoring a prize. For information, contact me on 079 490 5095 or betlehem@vodamail.co.za,” she said.

Huis Betlehem provides a nurturing environment for children who had to be removed from their parents or primary caregivers. Child protection organisations such as Child Welfare of South Africa place these children via the children’s court at Huis Betlehem for their protection and safety.
“Children in our homes attend school, and we strive to provide professional therapy and care services catering to each child’s individual needs,” Lourens said.
