Woman appears in Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court for alleged murder of domestic worker
Lucky Clara Mahlabane (43) faces a murder charge after the discovery of a woman's body in Tonga.

Lucky Clara Mahlabane (43) appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on Friday May 10 on a charge of murder.
The matter was postponed to May 16 for the formal bail application hearing. Mahlabane was arrested on May 9.

Her arrest followed the discovery of a woman’s body in a street in Tonga. The police, who responded to the scene, noticed visible bruises on the victim’s body and a murder case was opened.

It is alleged that the victim was employed as a domestic worker and that she went to Mahlabane’s house in relation to a cash transfer. The victim was then assaulted, allegedly by Mahlabane and two other people, until she lost consciousness and was left in the street.
The police are still in pursuit of the two other individuals who are still at large and who are suspects in the case.
