Two suspects to appear in KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court for hunting and possession of a pangolin

The two suspects were arrested in the course of the Mpumalanga Hawks following up on some information. They were found in possession of a dead pangolin.

Two suspects, aged 28 and 31, are expected to appear in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on Monday May 20 after they were found in possession of a dead pangolin today, May 17.

According to the Mpumalanga Hawks’ spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, the team followed up on some information regarding two suspects who were in the process of selling a pangolin.

“Two people fitting the suspects’ description were spotted next to a fuel station in KaBokweni. They were carrying a black schoolbag. They were searched and the team found one dead pangolin. They were arrested and detained pending their court appearance on Monday. The carcase was confiscated and the investigations continues,” Sekgotodi said.
