IN PHOTOS: Voters in the Lowveld show up in their masses to contribute to democracy

These South Africans voted to elect a new National Assembly as well as the provincial legislatures in each of the nine provinces.

On Wednesday May 29, Lowvelders went out to join the queues at various local voting stations. Excited first-time voters and those who had voted before said they were happy to be able to cast their ballots in these much-anticipated elections.

Voting stations saw queues of voters making their marks in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections. The ballot counting is under way following the elections.
