Lydenburg karatekas earn black belts
This club is growing in leaps and bounds and is still accepting new recruits.

The Sasori Bujutsu Dojo, a karate club in Lydenburg, congratulated their two newest senseis on achieving their first dans.
It was a long weekend of tests and training, but on June 30, Rayhan Suliman and Ankia van Niekerk passed their black belt grading at the Tokon Shotokan Karate Club’s head offices in Rustenburg, under Kancho Albert Venter.
Speaking after the event, Sensei Amandus Vermeulen, owner of the dojo, said this achievement shows the club is heading in the right direction.
“Having our members climbing up the ladder in the sport is an excellent achievement for us, and also an encouragement to other karatekas. Our club members have been training with exceptional vigour, and it’s clear that their efforts are paying off. Our community has every reason to be proud of these outstanding athletes,” he stated.
Interested locals wishing to join Sasori Bujutsu Dojo may contact Vermeulen on 060 778 2585. On August 10, this club is expected to host the Sasori Bujutsu Championship.
