Western Cape man accused of murder in court in White River

The accused was arrested in KaBokweni after he fled to Mpumalanga following a murder in August.

Western Cape murder accused, Ashwell Claremond Isaac (30), was remanded in custody by the White River Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 0ctober 28.
This is followed by his arrest in eMbonisweni in KaBokweni on Sunday, October 27.

According to a spokesperson of the Mpumalanga Hawks, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, information was operationalised regarding a suspect in a murder committed in Cape Town in August, who fled to Mpumalanga.

A warrant of arrest authorised against him after he fled the Western Cape.

“The accused is in transit and is expected to appear before the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, November 5.

The head of the Mpumalanga Hawks, Major General Nico Gerber, commended the effort of the Hawks for apprehending the accused.

“The Hawks in Mpumalanga will trace, arrest and bring to book all perpetrators who think they can hide without fear or favour. We serve the citizens of this beautiful country irrespective of which province needs our assistance,” he said.
