Onderberg businessman with sexual assault charges in court earlier on medical conditions

The State will be given a chance to reply on the matter on Wednesday, December 4.

The bail application for the well-known Onderberg businessman who has three cases of sexual assault against him was heard partly at the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court on Friday, November 29.

The State argued that it was not ready to proceed with the bail hearing due to the unavailability of the investigating officer handling the case. The magistrate, Refiloe Tsotetsi, allowed the man’s legal team to present their case before standing down.

The State was adamant on opposing bail and will be given a chance to present its case on the next appearance, which is Wednesday, December 4. The prosecutor, Phumlani Khumalo, also indicated that the State would no longer be adding a fourth charge against the accused.
