There were some roses among the rugby thorns at the Stonehouse Rugby 10s and Netball Sports Series at Hoërskool Bergvlam in Mbombela on Saturday, March 22.

This year, the Miss Stonehouse 10s pageant, sponsored by Lowvelder, was introduced. Entry was open to girls from 16 to 21 years of age.

Six models entered the competition.

After each contestant had a chance to parade in front of the crowd, Kirsten Hampton, Bianca Kotze and Jennifer Meintjies were selected as the three finalists.

But it was Jennifer who impressed the judges the most and was crowned the first-ever Miss Stonehouse 10s. She won R2 500 sponsored by Lowvelder.
