FTLM mayor meets cyclists riding from Burgersfort to Cape Town
The mayor thanked all donors and Good Samaritans who supported the trio.
The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s (FTLM) mayor, Cllr Eddie Maila, paid a courtesy visit to the cyclists who are riding from Burgersfort to Cape Town, on April 9.

The three cyclists, Karabo Mokoo from Riba Cross in Burgersfort, Maxwell Ndou from Vhembe and Gauta Mahlakoane from Ga Mathabatha, left Tubatse on April 2, heading to the Mother City.
The mayor and his team met the cyclists in Richmond in the Northern Cape.
Giving a message of support, Maila praised the resilience of the bikers for embarking on this journey to raise awareness and to promote cycling in rural areas.
“This journey has proven that anything is possible if you put your mind into it.”
He thanked all donors who provided all forms of support to the bikers.

He said the three have put Limpopo Province, Sekhukhune District and Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality on a map and their gesture must be celebrated at all times.

For the cyclists to have a smooth ride, Maila donated R30 000 to them.
