Large donation to bolster SPCA’s treatments at White River Animal Hospital
The donation from Green Rhino African Travel will be paid into the SPCA's account at the hospital, to be used for future treatments.
The White River SPCA’s future treatments of animals at the White River Animal Hospital will be made a lot easier thanks to a mammoth donation they received last week.
The donation came from the hands of Green Rhino African Travel, who for their 35th birthday held charity auctions in the name of assisting local organisations. They auctioned off paintings by Belinda Bubb, which had been purchased, framed and donated to Green Rhino for the auctions by the owner of Courtyard Framing, Jason van Loggerenberg.
The company celebrated its birthday at its Pretoria offices and conducted the auctions. According to Janet Friel of Green Rhino African Travel, they were able to raise R50 000 in aid of the White River SPCA. Green Rhino also made a donation towards the GreenTrax K9 anti-poaching unit.

“This money will be deposited into their [the SPCA’s] account at the White River Animal Hospital for them to use for any future treatments they might need to carry out,” Friel said.
The handover was carried out at the White River Animal Hospital on Wednesday, April 2. The White River SPCA’s chairperson, Estelle de Villiers, expressed her gratitude for the sizable donation and for considering the organisation.
“There are always funds needed for sterilisations, treatments and emergency care. This money will definitely be making it possible to help more animals in need.”
