An emotional memorial service drive in remembrance of Bongani Matenjwa was held in Mbombela this morning.

A memorial service drive in remembrance of Bongani Matenjwa, a Divergent Ops armed reaction officer who was fatally shot on Friday, April 18, departed this morning from Westend.

The procession, which ended at The Grove Riverside, included community members, security companies, emergency services and law enforcement agencies.

As the heavens opened up during the proceedings, the soft rain descending down on the mourners could’ve been seen as heavenly tears in solemn remembrance of Matenjwa.
