Early-morning truck accident on Schoemanskloof

A single-truck was on its way when it suddenly lost control and rolled on the N4.

At around 6:15 this morning a Mozambican single-truck lost control and rolled on the N4 Schoemanskloof road between the old Joe’s Kaia and Patatanek. The driver was heading in the east-bound direction transporting tomatoes.

Martin Jeffrey from Emer-G-Med reported from the scene.

“Upon arrival at the scene we found the driver who was already ejected and in a critical condition. When the Emer-G-Med ambulance arrived they stabilised the driver and he was taken to Rob Ferreira hospital under the care of the Emer-G-Med advanced life-support for further assistance.”

Van Wettens towing company and TRAC N4 are currently at the scene. The east-bound lane is closed with contra-flow in the west-bound lane. Martin further explained the road will remain closed for another hour until further notice.
