The acting provincial police commissioner, Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, strongly condemned this inhumane act. He urged members of the community to seek help when experiencing domestic or relationship problems rather than resorting to violence.

He emphasised that gender-based violence and femicide remain a serious threat to the safety and well-being of women and children in our communities.
