Mother pleads for assistance with son’s medical bills

A local mother is pleading with the Lydenburg community to assist her with much-needed financial assistance for her son’s medical expenses.
Dedicated mother Linda Pretorius’ son sustained serious injuries during an attack in October last year. According to information received, her son was brutally assaulted by three individuals outside a popular hangout spot in Lydenburg.
He was left for dead, suffering life-threatening injuries. Despite the odds, he survived and is now on a long and challenging road to recovery.
Johan Barnard Attorneys has, for this reason, assisted with setting up a trust fund for the young man to ensure he receives the medical care and support needed to rebuild his life, continue his studies, and follow his passion for sports.

The trust will cover the cost of vital treatments, including braces, a false tooth plate, and a specialised protective headpiece to help him safely return to the sport he loves.
It will also provide support to help him make up for lost time in his education and keep working towards his goals.
“Not only is this young man a talented hockey player for Harlequins, [he is] also a dedicated student and an inspiration to those around him.
