Kruger National Park access has been is affected by heavy rainfall
If the rains persist, some Kruger National Park gates will be closed for public safety.
Access to certain camps in the Kruger National Park ( KNP) has been affected by the heavy rainfall currently being experienced in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
According to SANParks spokesperson JP Louw, measures are in place to ensure guests use the most direct routes and avoid closed roads, which has been a source of frustration for many visitors to the park.

• Phabeni Gate is currently open, but may be closed at short notice depending on river levels.
• Malelane & Berg-en-Dal can be accessed via Malelane Gate.
• Crocodile Bridge & Lower Sabie access is via Crocodile Bridge Gate, with river levels being monitored.
• Orpen & Satara can be accessed via Orpen Gate.
• Olifants, Letaba & Mopani access is via Phalaborwa or Orpen gates.
• Pafuri & Punda Maria gates remain closed.

There is no access from Skukuza to Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge, Tshokwane, or Satara, as the Sabie River low-water bridge and various detours are flooded.
The Crocodile Bridge is officially closed and visitors to Lower Sabie will not be able to leave the park until the water levels subside. The situation is being monitored and guests will be updated of any developments.
There is also no access between Lower Sabie and Tshokwane, due to the closure of the H10 road.
“It is important to note that there is still no access to the far north of the park; the situation there remains unchanged. Guests are reminded to check KNP social media channels and our website for updates regarding road closures and those that may be temporarily reopened,” said Louw.
