Mbombela power failure update: No ETA for power access
The power supply to some parts of Mbombela has been disrupted since early Friday morning, January 16.

City of Mbombela (CoM) technicians have been working since this morning, January 16, to locate a faulty cable on the power line at the Anderson Street substation.
“The teams on the ground have not yet located the fault. The flooded stream next to the substation is making the work more difficult,” said CoM spokesperson Joseph Ngala.
Traffic officials have been deployed at various major intersections to assist the afternoon traffic.

Silulumanzi has confirmed that due to the recent power outages water supply in some parts of the city has also been affected.
This will cause serious challenges in water abstraction and distribution. Reservoirs are likely to be critically low to empty during these challenging times.
Customers and water users are advised to continue using water sparingly in order to avoid water reservoirs running empty during this critical period.
