Minister to announce Kruger Park fund plans tomorrow

The media briefing will be held in parliament.

The minister of forestry, fisheries and the environment, Willie Aucamp, will hold a media briefing tomorrow, January 21, in parliament to discuss the newly established Kruger Relief Fund and the latest developments on the flood recovery.

The fund was initiated by SANParks after severe flooding damaged roads and infrastructure in the park during the past week.

Many staff and visitors were also evacuated from overflooded camps and lost some of their personal belongings. The rainfall has continued intermittently since the minister’s last visit on January 17.

SANParks is monitoring the situation very closely and will continue to update visitors on gate closures and quotas.
