Graskop Gorge Lift Co. donates R100k for KNP rehabilitation

The financial assistance comes after the Kruger National Park was hit by devastating floods in January.

The Graskop Gorge Lift Co. has donated R100 000 towards the rehabilitation of the Kruger National Park (KNP) following the devastating January floods.

The donation was made to the SANParks Honorary Rangers Flood Disaster Relief Fund at Southern Sun Mbombela on the Wednesday, February 4, as financial assistance for their voluntary work in the park.

“R1 000 for each year,” said Oupa Pilane, the founding co-director of the Graskop Gorge Lift Co., highlighting the KNP’s centenary of establishment since 1926.

Pilane said he hoped the donation would make a difference and attract more donors to assist. He said it is vital that the tourism sector joins hands to help restore the KNP, as it is the main tourist attraction in Mpumalanga.
