CPF patroller killed in White River
A White River CPF patroller was fatally shot while allegedly responding to a distress call in Msholozi.
Members of the White River Community Policing Forum (CPF) are in mourning after a patroller was fatally shot in Msholozi on Friday, March 27. The patroller has not yet been identified as police continue with their investigation.

CPF chairperson Dawie Bronkhorst shared a statement on the incident:
“The CPF notes an incident involving an alleged distress call made by a member of the Msholozi community to one of the area CPF patrollers. The patroller reportedly responded to the call and it is alleged that the suspect/suspects involved were armed. During the response, the patroller sustained fatal wounds. He was privately transported for medical attention.”
Bronkhorst reiterated that they will not be releasing any further information, including the identity of the victim or details that could compromise the ongoing investigation.

“The CPF would like to remind all patrollers and responders that, upon receiving any distress call, the first step must always be to request backup from SAPS and relevant security companies before proceeding,” he concluded.
