‘Angel’ gifts four new tyres to Mbombela mother

An anonymous act of generosity saw a single mother’s four new tyres paid for after she was unable to afford the replacement.

Just days before Mother’s Day, a single and unemployed mother, Marike Arnold, experienced what many are calling a real-life miracle. On May 7, an ‘angel’ appeared at the right time and paid for four brand-new tyres for her Toyota Etios Sprint.

Arnold was on her way to fetch her son from aftercare when she noticed her left rear tyre was flat. “I knew I needed new tyres, but life has been tough and it was something I thought I could deal with later,” she admitted.

After several garages were unable to repair the puncture, she was referred to Point S Mbombela. What began as a plan to fix one tyre quickly escalated when workers removed all four, leaving her anxious about how she would afford the payment.

“I sat with my back against the wall and was stressed about how I was going to make the payment,” she said. “When they told me I didn’t need to pay because a client had already covered everything, I just started crying. This miracle has restored my faith in humanity.”

Arnold added that her car now feels brand new and drives much better. Her story has since touched hundreds of hearts online.

“Angels walk among us. I am so happy that you received this blessing today,” wrote Beena Narotam on Facebook.

Taryn Watson added, “This is just so beautiful. An amazing act of kindness, may he be blessed abundantly.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with Valerie Jane Graham urging, “Pay it forward. The most rewarding thing we can do is make a difference in the lives of others.”

Messages of faith poured in too. “The Lord is good! May their pockets never run dry and may they be blessed beyond measure,” said Marilize Vogel.
