Businesses invited to participate in revitalisation of Old Pretoria Road

The newly founded Old Pretoria Road Improvement Initiative Forum is on a mission to upgrade, clean and secure this vital gateway to our city.

Businesses, property owners and tenants along the Old Pretoria Road are invited to participate in an initiative to make the area a cleaner, safer and more welcoming.

The newly founded Old Pretoria Road Improvement Initiative Forum (OPRIIF) is a collective of property owners and businesses that seeks to improve this very important alternative entrance to the City of Mbombela.

A small team of locals and businesses have already taken the first steps, such as repainting street furniture, removal of illegal posters and traders, grass cutting, pavement refurbishment, security visibility and eradication of prostitution activities.

Team member Kobus Jacobs said the forum aims to upgrade the area, boost business and create a better environment for customers, employees and the community as a whole.

“Every business counts, every action matters. Let’s take pride in our streets and build a better future together,” said Jacobs. He added that the project includes connecting roadways such as Kiepersol, Hardekool and Plankie streets and Stinkhout Crescent.
