The Mbombela Art Gallery came alive as female artists took centre stage for the LABASIKATI: "This Woman’s Work" exhibition.

Women showcased their art in all forms at the LABASIKATI: “This Woman’s Work” exhibition at the Mbombela Art Gallery on Saturday, May 30.

This was a homecoming exhibition curated by the multi-talented artist, Samkela Stamper.

It was an immersive exhibition celebrating African women’s stories through a wide range of artistic forms, incorporating photography, film, sound, sculpture, printmaking, performance, music and textile art.

The art on display featured that of Lethabo Mashego, Nontokozo Phiri, Melissa Sarah Adey, Phumeza Ma’at Macwili, Liyema Viti, Surprise Thabethe, Marietjie Henning, Nonelela Mangcangaza, Heidi Booysen, Mam’ Madabane Sinqe, Anikjie Sefake and Mashudu Mfomande.
