Hazyview PID to host annual golf day fundraiser
Hazyview Pets in Distress hosts annual golf day at Sabie River Sun Resort
Hazyview Pets in Distress will host its annual fundraising golf day at Sabie River Sun Resort on August 8 to raise much-needed funds for animals in distress.
Hazyview PID spokesperson Vivian McKay said the organisation hopes to attract as many golfers as possible to help sustain its animal welfare work.
“Sponsor a tee for R1 000. There are amazing prizes to be won, and all the money raised will go towards the well-being of abandoned and neglected animals. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on donors,” she said.

Shelter takes in motherless puppies
McKay encouraged golfers to participate in large numbers, noting that the organisation continues to receive calls to rescue unwanted pets. She said they recently took in about 15 puppies after their mother died, leaving them with no one to care for them.

“Without the support of our community and surrounding areas, this work would not be possible. Our veterinarian is 100% behind us and assists wherever possible. We also have loyal donors who contribute through monthly debit orders, as well as those who support our raffles to ensure this important cause continues.
We must also thank our anonymous and generous donors, whose support allows us to do even more,” she said.
McKay said anyone interested in participating in or supporting the fundraiser can contact Hazyview PID on 068 085 2822 or visit Sabie River Sun Resort for more information.
