Uplands Preparatory hosts consecration of new Anglican Bishop of Mpumalanga

Reverend Canon Wayne Samuel Saldanha was consecrated and enthroned as Bishop of Mpumalanga for the Diocese of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa at Uplands Preparatory on Sunday, September 13.

The service was led by the Archbishop of Cape Town and Metropolitan of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, Dr Thabo Cecil Makgoba.

Bishops from around the country, past and present, travelled to share in the sacred moment, alongside family, friends and members of the church and diocese.

The event marked a landmark in Uplands Preparatory’s history as the school welcomed the commencement of Saldanha’s tenure.
