FITTER ARTISAN X1 Internal/External Vacancy (Three Months Fixed -Term Contract). JOB TITLE: Fitter Artisan X 1. Ref. No: (FIT/FIX MMR/2026). DATE OF DISTRIBUTION. 30 April 2026. DEPARTMENT: Engineering. JOB GRADE: C2. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To carry out mechanical maintenance to all equipment in the Crushing and Jigging plant.The incumbent must be able to assist in other areas of maintenance if required and be responsible for housekeeping in their own area of responsibility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REGUIREMENTS:
•Grade 12.
•NQF level 4 qualification in the mechanical field.
•Trade Test Qualified: Fitter.
•Minimum of 2 years` experience in an engineering environment as a fitter.
•Proven experience in;
•Pumps, Conveyors and hydraulics.
•Cone and Jaw crusher maintenance.
•Valid driver`s license and own transport. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
•Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on both Jig and Crusher plant.
•Maintain and/or repaire low level and high-level mechanical equipment.
•Perform diagnostic and repair on plant equipment.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system on the plant machinery.
•Maintain accurate record of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, labour hours and equipment condition.
•Read and interpret sketches, drawings and blueprints to perform work to specified standards eg OEM standards.
•Adhere to all company SOP`s, COP and OSHA requirements to ensure a safe working place.
•Perform standby duties as required and be available for the telephonic consultation or callouts.
•Organise/make arrangements for resources and machinery required to complete a given task.
